Sic Bo - Rules
Sic Bo is played with three standard six-sided dice that were traditionally shaken in a basket, plastic cup or a plate covered with a bowl. In modern casinos however the dice are shaken automatically, with the results fed into a computer that lights up the winning areas onto the Sic Bo table.
A player can make all sorts of bets on a Sic Bo table, ranging from single number betting (ie: that one number will appear on any one of the three dice) which pays out even money, to ‘specific triple’ betting (ie: that all three dice will show the number two).
The house edge is highest in specific double betting (ie: that two of the three dice will show a four), where it reaches up to 33% in Macau and 18% in the UK.
Here are some of the common bets and probabilities for Sic Bo, with a rough guide to payouts:
