The walkout started on Thursday morning and lasted for 24 hours. The Transport and General Workers Union said that there had been no headway made in resolving the row over a 3.5 percent pay offer.

Grovesnor casinos said it was disspaointed, but claimed that it would still be "business as usual".

The union said 350 workers went on strike, although Grovesnor said the figure was just 73.
