According to the report the banks concerned had underwritten the intial IPO's of some of the world's most popular online poker and gambling sites and include such household names as Deutsche Bank and HSBC.

An anonymous expert told the newspaper that the US authorites were "going after parties removed several steps from the business of gambling" which he said was "frankly ridiculous".
